hahaha help
so i ranked 1st in english
but if i were to say "fuck the HSC"
and get 70 in english
and some freak got 95
what mark would i get etc?
what would happen

You would get 70 as your external mark and 95 as your internal mark.

Hey, could you please explain what does internal and external marks mean?
Internal - the mark you receive that is aligned accordingly to your school rank
External - the mark you received in your actual exam

Which mark matters more? Internal or External? Also based on OP's post, how does his internal and external mark changes? What factors affect this?

Omg, they both matter. They average the two marks to give you a final hsc mark.

Ohh okay, simple answer, thanks for explaining. But then doesn't scaling come in after your average is calculated?

Just let whatever has to happen be. It's not an easy process to understand, and knowing how it works won't really change much.

Three things happen to marks:

internal marks are moderated using the external marks of your cohort

external marks are aligned to the standards set by the BOS in the Band descriptors

marks and then scaled by UAC to determine your ATAR
