That's like saying Germany these days is cool but imma go rock dem swastikas yo. It isn't the country that the issue is with, but what the flag symbolises. The "rising sun" or Japanese Imperial naval ensign is still very much a taboo image in Japan and it's offensive to those who've served to carry it into an RSL. I wouldn't wear the symbol anywhere personally.

Contrary to what the Korean government has taught you. The Rising Sun is not a Japanese equivalent of Nazi swastika. The Rising Sun was invented way before WW2 and is still in use today in Japan and in USA military patches.

Rising Sun looks shit? It's one of the sexiest symbol out there. It's it wasn't the Chinese and Koreans, I would get rising sun tat on my shoulder.
