So does macquarie university. They're not there by choice, they're there because they didn't have the marks to cut it at a Go8 uni and wanted a visa so they can stay in Australia.
no. 7 in australia
if curtin is no.7 it would be ranked above some go8 courses, and some international students probably preferentially go there?

Or it just doesn't have the 2 year managerial experience required by most MBA programmes.

Speaking of salary,

http://www.mbanews.com.au/rankings/#

Forbes
The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) was the only Australian business school to appear on Forbes’ 2013 list of Best International Business Schools outside of the United States.
The Forbes ranking is undertaken every two years and measures the financial return on investment gained by completing an MBA. Forbes magazine sent surveys to 17,000 MBA graduates from 2008 and arrived at the ranking by comparing their earnings in their first five years out of business school to their opportunity cost (two years of forgone compensation, tuition and required fees). The schools are then ranked according to their t “5-year M.B.A. gain”.
AGSM was 24th on the list with a total 5-Year MBA Gain of $US24,700. AGSM students had an average pre-MBA salary of $US56,000 and an average 2012 salary of $US163,000.The AGSM MBA costs $72,512.
That's over 100k bump in salary from pre-mba to MBA level.

But how do you know that in 5 years those people wouldn't have achieved those pay increases in spite of not due to their mba
Yes I'm sure a 300% salary increase is very feasible in 5 years without any sort of additional qualifications. There is a reason why MBA's are so popular amongst professionals, it's just another dick measuring thing and the uni you get into is practically a status symbol. Why do you think Harvard or Yale's MBA programs are so sought after?

I wouldn't exactly use donald trump as an example of a succesful business magnate when he's been bankrupt MULTIPLE TIMES

http://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoc...ow-donald-trump-made-bankruptcy-work-for-him/

Not surprisingly, there was no dramatic change to the socio-economic make-up of university students. This grandiose gesture did not let more poor kids in to university. What it did was pay for all the so-called rich kids who were going to uni anyway. In an effort to help the poor, taxpayer dollars were shovelled into the mouths of the rich. Not surprisingly, they liked it. A lot.
Pretty much this.

Why not

Australian employers don't care about mbas or non work experience qualifications

Kim kardashian never even went to college

One of my friends earns over 200k selling isag
Kim Kardashian's dad was a high end criminal defence lawyer and made huge bank defending OJ Simpson.

Australian employer's don't care about MBA's... Yeah your friend must be a massive idiot for spending money and doing one. Guess all those kid's doing practical degrees don't count for shit aye, no point going to uni, you can go straight into bizness.

some professions didn't even require certification.

For example in the US the only qualification you need to practice law is to pass the bar exam.
Law for instance used to be a trainee type qualification where you'd start working as a clerk or whatever and work your way up.
Many judges have less 'formal qualifications' than the lawyers they're hearing.
that is irrelevant

J. D. degree from a law school accredited by the State Bar of California or approved by the ABA;
Four years of study at a fixed-facility law school registered with the Committee;
Four years of study, with a minimum of 864 hours of preparation and study per year, at an unaccredited distance-learning or correspondence law school registered with the Committee;
Four years of study in the law office/judge’s chambers study program; or
A combination of these methods.
Yep, seems like I don't need a law degree in California at all.

If you keep denouncing how unimportant uni is, why bitch and moan about a tertiary education budget cut.

in NY and california you have to do an US LLM to be accepted, (as a foreign lawyer) but anyone with an JD LLB BCL or equivalent can take the NY bar course
yeah thats irrelevant because you'll never have a good law job without a good degree

In California, Vermont, Virginia, Washington State, and Wyoming[12] an applicant who has not attended law school may take the bar exam after study under a judge or practicing attorney for an extended period of time.[13][14] This method is known as "reading law" or "reading the law".
New York requires that applicants who are reading the law have at least one year of law school study (Rule 520.4 for the Admission of Attorneys).[15]
Maine allows students with two years of law school to serve an apprenticeship in lieu of completing their third year.
Yeah because that's no different than going to law school. Have fun finding a practising attorney or judge to mentor you for four years.

I highly doubt people who never went to law school unless they were EXTREMELY talented would even pass the bar. Yes I know each state has it's own system, so why did you go "in america you can practice by just passing the bar."

ghenkis khan never went to high school and he conquered the world. proves high school is useless right.

No but it wouldn't be that inconvenient to supervise and work alongside a career paralegal.
Most paralegals who want to be lawyers go to law school anyway. There's a reason why having a good law degree is a huge barrier to entry. Would you honestly trust a lawyer that didn't do a law degree?

i was just providing a real world example.

The truth is after someone graduates and finds employment where they got their degree is increasingly meaningless.
The truth is university degrees are now becoming the same as high school diploma's. jobs that don't require uni degrees 10 years ago do now. have fun in the job market.

mfw people bitch and moan about 7 dollars to visit the GP.
There are so many homeless people who can't afford food how can they afford a GP tax. The GP tax hits poor people very hard. Tony Abbott should swallow his pride and go back to the drawing board and stop his class warfare against the poor.
