6:13pm: To recap, multiple media outlets are reporting the gunman is making demands through hostages.

Radio stations 2UE and 2GB and TV networks Nine and Ten have all reported they have been called by hostages, acting on the demand of the armed man.

Fairfax Media and Channel 10 have both reported claims the man wants an IS flag delivered to the cafe.

Hostages have also told Channel 10 the gunman wants to talk to the Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, and has placed four bombs in Sydney's CBD, two inside the cafe and two others at undisclosed locations.

The media are depicting these releases as 'escapes'. The individuals whom exited the building escaped, even though the perpetrator is clearly releasing them lol.

Confirmed they've made direct contact. The deputy commissioner confirmed that.

However the demands were apparently mentioned through the hostage's Facebook pages. Apparently the perpetrator had 3 demands. The 3rd which 7 news would not read out.

If he's letting them escape, whats the whole point of a hostage? People are spectualting this is a government set up to have a reason to increase milatry spending, and hire more intellgient services. And once again, the conspriacies begin.
