If you don't make it into commerce, you might want to do economics or info sys for a year, then transfer with a 75 wam into commerce.

Usually there are no vacancies but I might have recalled instances where there was. The ATAR was something insane like 99.95

This pretty much. The cut-off sky rockets for later rounds as usually all the spots will be taken in main round for Commerce.
