The structure I'm following is

Intro
Paragraph 1: Text 1
Paragraph 2: Text 2
Paragraph 3: Text 1
Paragraph 4: Text 2
Paragraph 5: Text 1
Paragraph 6: Text 2
Conclusion

1) is that too many paragraphs

2) How many quotes should I use per paragraph

3) How many words should I have in each body

2) 3-4 at the minimum
3) Depends. Try timing yourself and see how many words in total you can write in 40 minutes.

Apparently you need to have 6 body paragraphs, 2 per idea


atar goal:91 but will be happy with 85+

I have 4 quotes per paragraph so I should be fine, and is there a thread specifically on how to answer English essay questions

I do that most of the time. I would like 6 bodies but realistically if I want detailed paragraphs under strong points I can only do 4 bodies

Btw, is there any uploaded sample essays following this structure? All I've seen so far are 3 bodies

This is what I got for the 2014 hsc, only had 4 bodies, 2 ideas in total.

It's too many. Just do what photastic recommended. That way you can delve deeper into each idea and provide an insightful argument for each rather than briefly discussing stuff. Also, you need time to adapt it to the question.

Yeah 2015's listen to enigma as well, don't argue with band 6 students. At the end of the day, if you answered the question and succeeded the marking criteria you are going to do well.
