How many band 6s required for an atar of 90+? how about 95+?

I heard.... and its veryyyyyy gernerallllll, but people say... that if you get band sixes in all your subjects you get 99+

but that all depends on the subjects and other things

Don't need band 6s for 90+, 3 for 95+, 5 for 99+

For both 90 and 95, 0 band 6's will still get you there as long as all/most of your subjects are high 80s and have decent scaling.

EDIT: In your case, I agree with photo for 95+ 3 would be suffice as long as your other units are in the high 80s.

0 for 95 really? my tutor got 4 band 6s or equivalent, physics, chem, business studies, maths ex 1 and just got 97.60

That is assuming that you do all the high scaling subjects i.e. mx1, mx2, Eng Adv, Chem, Phys/eco.

3 would be guaranteed provided the others are mid-high 80s. I think 0 is still possible if everything is like 88-89. But to be safe at least 2 b6 and the rest high 80s (87+)

Around what rank is your current school? Where does it fluctuate?

its around 400..but around 20 ppl get over 90 atar

Judging by the school rank, I would recommend top 10 (leeway a couple ranks) in every subject to have a chance of obtaining a 95+.

I got 91 atar with 3 band 6s but subjects were not that great (business, agriculture, cafs). The rest were band 5 (adv english, bio, society). Maybe that can help give you an idea.
