Is it possible to do Actuarial studies without directly or indirectly working with interest ?
Is engineering really worth it?... I don't want to finish a four year course without a job.

Don't forget that after you finish actuarial studies you have to pass 14 examinations to actually become an actuary fellow (if you want to work as one).

Don't forget that if you want to graduate from engineering you must take compulsory industrial training. And what's worse is that the uni doesn't allocate it to you so you have to go and look for it yourself.

As a person who is interested in actuarial studies, what are the processes required in order to become an actuary. Can you please explain it to me in the form of a timeline?

It's just like applying for internships - pretty much have to go through application + online psychometric testing + phone interview + assessment centre + maybe final interview round.

If you're looking for unpaid internships with smaller firms then they'd be happy to take you on if you give a call and have a brief interview with one of the managers or workers there. That won't be the case with say, petroleum or mining engo but it's definitely possible for civil eng.

I thought it must be a paid internship for 60 days industrial training?

unsw is pretty close with microsoft, google but probably have to be a top gun to be considered

UTS doesn't organise it, although they do let you contact the industry through their website (I'm too sure).
Surprisingly MQ actually organises the internships for you (you get a list of companies to chose from - and they're all reputable) even though most of their engineering majors aren't even accredited by Engineers Australia yet.
