is the percentile lower for rural med @ UNSW?
anyone know,on average, what kind of score/percentile gets you in for rural med @ UNSW?
"Applicants are offered interviews on the basis of their
combined predicted or actual ATAR and their actual
UMAT scores. Interviews are offered to the highest
ranking applicants until all interview places have
been filled. Interviews take place in November and
early January. A maximum of 500 applicants will be
interviewed."

"The UMAT score is valid for one year only. UNSW uses the actual scores for the three test components, not the percentile rank. Minimum UMAT score required for interivew selection is 150 (total raw score - there is no required score minimum for test components)."

164 overall, with 72nd percentile, which I think will be at bit short for UTAS - unless anyone has other advice.

54, 65, 44
162 score and 69 percentile....
I feel like all hope is lost.
Dream was UNSW but that feels lost, any chance of a UWS interview?

Probably not since their western sydney cut off was like 148 last year with approx 1:1:1/2 ratio (changed from 1/2 to something lower). For non-western sydney it was like 151 ish

I wish. I scored 151 as GWS using that formula last year and I didn't even receive an interview :'(

I think they completely excluded S3 altogether in the formula

Really? Wow, I thought i might of seen some interview scores with that mark last year? Prob's misread them. Did you call em up to check it wasn't a mistake?

I'm western sydney I got 162???
That's your overall score. UWS uses a weighted score that USED To be S1 = 1 S2 = 1 S3 = 1/2, but they have changed that so now S3 is worth even less. Your combined score should be 150ish for an interview.

What is this threshold thing? About calculating your score according to 1:1:1/2? I thought unis either looked for 50 in each section or say 90+ percentile e.g. for unsw/monash med (this is a guess!)??

This is only relevant for UWS. UNSW uses overall score to rank you combined with your academic score (ATAR, or ATAR:GPA 50/50 combo). Monash i'm not sure but I believe it's the same.

is the overall score the addition of all of the 3 section scores?

it says it's an aggregate mark and hence it should be... but mine doesn't add up right :s

Apparently they calculated it to several decimal places and do magical stuff before releasing it.

57 48 57 overall 162 69% percentile.
Is there any way I could get into UWS med at all, if I get a 95 atar? I'm greater western Sydney, but I'm really devastated about my results atm.

S1: 62
S2: 54
S3: 57

Percentile: 82

What do people think about my chances for Newcastle/ Adelaide assuming ATAR is around 97ish? (keeping in mind that Newcastle only looks at S1 as long as the other sections are over 50 and that they only require you to get approx. 94 ATAR to be eligible)

Nope, unfortunately not. If you're still determined for medicine, just do any degree you're remotely interested in, and resit UMAT while maintaining good grades.

Assuming I get 7 GPA, what is my chance of getting interview offer from UNSW, JMP and UWS?
