My 19/20 Mod B trial essay (I do Hamlet) says otherwise. I had a generic essay for the module and just ensured I doubled my prep by adapting more than Mod A and C. So you can prepare an essay for Mod B (srs). The point is though to make sure you also know the whole text (or speeches if your school studies them) so if they chuck a shocker at you, you can write on the spot as well. Most questions however can be linked back to certain central ideas - like you can bring heaps of stuff back to the idea of remembrance so if you've prepared something for that, you're good.I'm going to have an adaptable for Module A and Module C because the questions are really general and predictable. But Module B is specific a lot of the time and I don't think a prepared would be ideal for it.
Just don't get caught in the trap of memorising word for word and not knowing the text as a whole.
