False hope from my scores ... where did I go wrong? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, well done and congratulations on your ATARs!
I hope your hard work paid off.

Anyways, following the posting of HSC scores, I found myself expecting an ATAR higher than that of my result (98.85)
Whilst I'm not entirely disappointed with it, it just sucks to be let down like that
My scores are below, does anyone know how they correlate?
My school came 34th overall fyi

96 English Advanced
92 Economics
95 Modern History
47 History Extension
47 English Extension I
48 English Extension II
85 Maths (2U)

yeah you did 11 units or so, and your maths failed you

it's not even extension 1 or 2, it's normal 2 unit


Remember 99 ATAR is around top 1% of students, while your other marks are fantastic, you only got 85 in the 2 unit course... and one unit of that counted towards your ATAR so GG you

omg i feel the same man- got above 90 in all my subjects and high 90s in extension history, extension 2 english and extension 1 english and still ended up with an atar below 99! i was expecting higher...
