Hi guys, I'm starting at UNSW this feb and I'll be studying a bachelor of science (assuming FEAS doesn't work out lol).
My plan is to pick the same subjects that a first year electrical engineering student would be doing and then transfer after first year. So basically my classes will be exactly the same as an engineering student's classes.

However, I've received mixed responses to this question so far... Am I able to pick engg1000 as an elective from my science degree? Or do I have to be enrolled in an engineering degree in order to pick it? Also what about elec1111???

If I can't pick these classes then I guess I'll have to do some others and then do these in second year after my transfer is (hopefully) accepted.

Thank you

IMO I think you should be able to, because you get 2 Gen Eds which can be taken at any stage of your BSc program, on top of 24 free electives. The first year maths, physics and computing you need for Elec engg all count as science courses, so essentially you could tell them you are using your 2 Gen Eds on elec1111 and engg1000. Though definitely email the school to make sure. :)

What if your doing renewable energy, so you still do sola1070 sem 2? Why this particular study plan? Is ENGG1000 really annoying with all the projects and shit? :) cheers mate

Personally I think doing ELEC1111 in semester 1 isn't a good idea (if you aren't doing elec eng) since you're with elec students, not spree or even mech (as there is some overlap with mech courses like fluid mechanics and thermodynamics).

Also, most students will probably follow this guide: https://www.engineering.unsw.edu.au...7 RE study plan - effective S1 2016_FINAL.pdf

Better that you're with your spree/mech peers than elec peers.

wait i thought most elec engg students would be doing elec1111/1112 in semester 2? as the suggested plan goes math phys comp engg1000 for sem1, math phys engg elec for sem2?

ELEC1112 is only offered in semester 1.

Oh yeah you're right! I swear last time I checked the suggested plan on the faculty website said you do elec1111/1112 in semester 2, so that's why I thought 1112 would be offered in sem2 as well.

Oh oops better change my enrolment...... so I should do math phys comp and 1112 in sem1 as I'm doing elec engg? And preferably do engg1000 next year sem1?

Btw it says everything is on hold for 1112, so what do I do now?
