What is penultimate year (second last year right?) , if I graduate mid-year, what would be considered penultimate year, when applying for something? Does it include summer school or not? Thanks.

Penultimate year is considered 2nd last year.

But if it's in terms of internships, for example, if you finish off all of your courses at the end of sem 1 2017, then sem 2 2016 would still be considered penultimate since internships are from December-February in Australia. Elsewhere in the world Sem 2 2016 would be considered final year (Since internships go from June-August or May-July), and that people generally finish their courses in the middle of the year.

I thought the class test for algebra would actually be hard. It turned out to be 20 minutes of elementary work.

Mining is gay. The syllabus is vague as fuck. No specific instructions on what you need to learn or read.

the exam was so bs the questions were like "what is a hazard" etc and everyone was on their phone googling stuff then i found out he's been using the same paper for the past few semesters because it was on the facebook group lel

Yeah calculus is good, we have done so much of it in HS. Everything in algebra is so foreign to me.

Wow so MATH1151 actually use MATLAB.

And we used Maple in MATH1141.

MATLAB is so much more powerful. They should just make it standard for all first years to learn. They can teach Maple in later years for Science students.

It would make more sense in my opinion to teach Matlab.

MATLAB is so much more powerful. They should just make it standard for all first years to learn. They can teach Maple in later years for Science students.

Basically yeah I self learn MatLab, just quite poorly

Does MATLAB have assistant templates? I find those super useful on Mathematica.

but then it was too hard to use so I just went back to wolfram alpha for all my maths computational concerns

I spent a lot of last night and today properly learning MATLAB after seeing this.

Wow, it actually is really amazing.
