There's going to be a point in every sem that you do from now on where you will feel at breaking point in terms of assessments
It happens every sem no matter what combination of subjects
and the content is going to be harder the further you progress

So don't give up, you've gotten through it before and you can again

The summer holidays are totally worth it

I just want to cry, my thesis is dying on me every iteration of my simulation.

I will be working on my thesis during the mid-year break, whilst first/second/third years are having fun or volunteering or working. All that sounds better than praying to the high performance computing gods, hoping your thesis won't catastrophically fail.

HSC was literally so much easier than this lol

ye but im so chill now. three weeks from exams and im like watever.

Comp1917 - ahaha fkn comp. fallen behind terribly in the past 2 weeks. Dont know what im doing anymore but yeh. watevs. the comp gods will save me.

Math1131 - im beyond saving. Feels like 3u math all over again. im still at projections in algebra...havent gone past that yet. Calculus im more up to date with but yeh ill still struggle. I tried a question in my tutorial and i didn't know how to integrate exponentials..RIP....... Probably only put in around 14 hours of maths myself over the semester so far, and only been to the first 2 weeks of lectures. (2 hours studying for each of the 3 tests we have had so far...and another 2 hours on maple tests, and then 1 hour on each of the 4 online tutorials i have done.)

SCIF1121 - this is the shit. Assignments all the way to a distinction.

CHEM1031 - not done much home study on this apart from lab reports, weekly chem quizes, or the 2 weeks b4 my mid semester exam. I am alright with the first and last section but have a massive knowledge gap for the whole second part with thr second lecturer. Fucken hybridisation and structures of fucking compunds and shit "Ax" shit and whatever. skipped a lot of tutorials and got my mate to sign me on . Done only the first 2 tutorial problem sets. but yeh should theoretically be ok as long as i learn the middle section. and also fuck thermodynamics.

Let me do a review of my subjects to this point.

MAth1131: pretty chill course, a bit of new stuff but exam questions are surprising doable. Calculous lecture overcomplicates shit so skipped it since it makes my brain cells commit senpaku. Algebra is great though.

Elec1111, if you are given a choice to do or not do this subject then do it... If you wanna die. Subject is gg wp, if you get even one line wrong in the exam, you get zero for entire part/question. Content is way too fast. If you dont have fundation in electrical circuit, have fun dying.

Engg1811, started off as easy with excel and shit. Matlab is cancer. End of story. Lecturer cant speak english well, heavy accent. Labs is the shit to go to.

Phys1121, my favourite subject. Lol no... Screwed/10. The workshops are pretty bad, wish they provide actual tutorial do everyone knows what the fk is going on. Lecture notes are meh. Derivations are prrtty hard to do.

You'll be fine. Have a chat to your supervisor(s) and tell them what is happening. Even if they can't fix it, they'll be understanding and give you suggestions on what to do.

And with math, how you going to pass the class test when your that far behind in algebra? After my test today I will be spending it on algebra study + linked list study. Because right now I'm fucked.

SCIF1121 - this is the shit. Assignments all the way to a credit.

Ftfy UGH I HATE the discipline stream assignment, whoever thought an 8000 word report and 20min speech was a good idea can go rot. This is going to be my biggest WAM killer the entire semester. Even MATH1151 gives me hope of getting a distinction.

I also have a massive inner worry that my section in the report is going to be plagiarised. If that happens then ugh its all my fault.

No idea of any websites that checks plagiarism from book sources

That's good. I hope for a D in comp, currently I'm not too keen on the prac exam coming up. I just gotta learn how to use linked lists tho and should be right hopefully.




Also to others, you know those volunteering societies? Where they do a lot of outreach events where they go to schools and do workshops with kids? Is this good for your resume?

There's one training workshop that will allow me to go on all workshop events, the only one this year, but it's on my birthday lol and goes for a while. Should I definitely do it?
