Is it a bad idea to buy an old course pack (2012) for math1131, especially if I want to rote learn the final exams? (It has final exams '08 - '11). Do the notes change? They come with solutions for the final exams right?

yes, they syllabus and order of teaching does change. iirc in 2014 they made vectors taught first then complex, even nowadays u have online tuts for these classes, so i wouldnt risk
