for me so far, ACCG, especially the journal assignment (Tho maybe its just because we had to select from stupid lists and so I wasnt able to do it as fast as I wanted to), has been really boring/unbareable at times.

Srsly considering trying to transfer to law next year, will probably do lex101 next semester.

Is there a good journalism degree combo with finance in macq? I enjoy finance, so i think atm I'm pretty resolute in working in finance in the end anyway, but thats the only other thing that would interest me

Is that for accg100?

First year accounting is incredibly boring. When you get to 2nd and 3rd year you start on more complex (and arguably) more interesting topics.

yep. Thanks for clarifying, Think I'm going to still do Lex101 as a people unit next sem just to get a feel for it. Many of my mates regret doing Law, and originally I had no intentions of it and still dont really have any intentions of a career in it, so will just give that unit a try.

I reckon ACCG250 is easier then first year accounting.

whose to say Law wont be as boring too? Plus as ilikecats stated, 1st year accounting units, especially 1B for me, were boring and they get better in 2nd and 3rd year when they become more specialised especially Tax and Audit... youll love them ;) Btw Accounting 1A or whatever its called now, is vitally important. When I first got a job in a small firm after graduation they asked me to a bank rec and why and i had absolotely no fking clue of how to do one cause the last one i did was in 1A haha. So the topics may be boring but theyre essential to grasp

It wasnt that bad as in the topic itself, some of the theory aspects to me are more tiresome then the actual practical work.

The format of the assignment that was like most of our tutes for the sem was retarded... For most the tutes you couldnt select your/type your, own heading, description etc. in. You had to choose it from a drop down list in excel. Made everything way more tedious then it needed to be, and much more frustrating, especially for me who rather types fast then clicks fast , coupling that without a mouse :(

That being said, I agree about what you said about law. Thats why I'm just going to try out Lex101 as a people unit in the first place, a lot of my mates that do law (mainly at other unis) have slagged it off but I kind of want to experience it. Many people slag off accounting, engo etc. as well. But it all comes down to what fits you just right

Is LEX relevant to anything tho? My mates did LEX as their people unit and most of em scored HDs with minimal effort. If u get to do any free electives choose a 1st yr law course to see if it interests u.

BUSL250(Business and Corporation law) is compulsory professional accounting unit that only requires 12 credit points that you could also take next semester?

I think the requirements are a 5.0 GPA, 15 credit points, and Lex101 or 102 as prerequisites. So i'll have to do it anyway if I do end up transferring, and it would then be an earlier transfer than if I did bus250 then lex101

I think this is the best option.

Take it with the intention of making it your people unit. If you enjoy this and BUSL250, and you genuinely think you'd prefer Finance/Law over accounting, then apply to transfer at the end of the year.

If you don't end up enjoying it, then you've covered off your people unit!

I loved accg250.

It very much solidified my transfer into my information systems degree.

Me after doing ACCG250, maybe I should transfer degrees.

Me after doing BUSL250, oh this is interesting, maybe I should transfer degrees. Does the midsemester test.
Changes mind (that midsem really kills you).

Annnnd I'm officially free of assessment tasks until exams!

Off camping this weekend, followed by a solid 2.5 weeks of exam prep to keep me insane.
