Is it possible for a year 12 standard student to be offered a place in advanced English if they perform exceptionally well in their first assessment task???

It would depend on your school and how many spots there are in English Advanced (as well as what texts you do)

Yeah why not they're basically the same course but you might have to catch up on the text

I've personally never seen that happen before but it never hurts to be persistent and proactive about things like this, definitely ask your teacher and unit coordinator and see what happens.
