Im finding it hard to understand this question, pls help :D

Kim and Mel play a simple game using a spinner marked with the numbers 1, 2,
3, 4 and 5.
The game consists of each player spinning the spinner once. Each of the five numbers is equally likely to occur.
The player who obtains the higher number wins the game.
If both players obtain the same number, the result is a draw.

i) Kim and Mel play one game. What is the probability that Kim wins the 1st game?

Thx

First consider P(draw)= 1/5. As regardless of who goes first there will be 1/5 chance the second person gets the same number.

That leaves 4/5 left- now since we don't know who goes first or any other information they have equal chance of winning. Therefore, 1/2 * 4/5= 2/5.

Alternatively:

Let denote the result of a game where Kim spins and Mel spins .

The possible results for a victory are:

Clearly, there are different outcomes.

Therefore, the probability that Kim (or Mel) wins a game is given by
