Hi guys!
Sorry for that little bit of click bait 😜
but I thought this would be the perfect place to discuss:

1)When is the best time to study for you?
2)Is waking up at 4 am really worth it?
3)Night vs morning studying, what really is the easiest and most productive

Gonna say it again, which human willingly wakes up at 4am???
My grandfather wakes up at 4am. He was in the military so I guess he's an exception but wtf he's so fit and he's 80 :\

Anyway yeah I tend to study better at night. I absorb information better and my problem solving skills tend to be at peak.

If you wake up 4am you are going to probably have a lot of sleep problems for the normal person. I say that cause that means if you want to sleep 7-8 hours you have to sleep at 8pm. That is going to be very hard if you are living in a house with other people because they will probably be making noise etc. at that time. I would probably say don't go to that kind of extreme for year 11 and 12

I can't believe we're even having a discussion about waking up at 4 during the HSC lol.

Please don't...

I wake up at 5:30 and study for an hour in the morn. I do hw/other stuff for a few hours after school, and sleep at 9:30 (11pm latest, my body hates it when i'm up late). I have friends who study 'till 1am. Tbh it is personal preference.

I thought people in year 12 did all nighters and all that lol..
That’s unprepared people. Honestly maybe you have to do it once or twice but it’s not something you should be doing every week
Yeah I did it once in year 11, ended up getting 90+ on something I should have failed. However the physical consequences for me were terrible. I was extremely tired for days despite getting 10+ hours of sleep on the following nights, it took at least a week until I felt healthy again.

Not worth it. Unless you sleep at 9pm everyday then it can work out.

Just noting you just sleep well during HSC instead of experimenting with sleep and Im saying this from experience. I used to sleep for 5-6 hours every single day because i was addicted to video games back in yrs 8-10, even in the holidays i did that. I'm 16 and 4 inches shorter than my father so height stunt and i grasp concepts way slower than I used to, so im dumber too.

even though i haven't done the hsc all ill say is to not experiment with sleep during that time. No point waking up so early if you're never going to retain that info, and no point of an atar if you have physically wrecked your body.

I agree and all, however, many successful businessmen / or people (for those wanting to be politically correct) generally wake up at 4 to 5 in the morning and workout, meditate and work. This is as you have no distractions around you and most of your social media, emails and texts won't occur as everyone else is alseep. However, if you decide to follow this, you must regulate your sleep and exercise in the morning to keep you boosted. When doing this, I found that I was more alert, as you have been up for longer.

Out ✌🤟🤘

Waking up early for a passion/dream/business is different to HSC. I wouldn't mind waking up that early if I'm trying to achieve something of my dreams. For the HSC, not so much haha..

But why, for the HSC you would want to do well so you can achieve those dreams of becoming a businessman and all that right? Because good ATAR = good uni, good uni = better job opportunities..
That's not really how it works..... HSC literally has no relevance to being a successful entrepreneur..

Just reading this thread leaves me baffled lol... never in my 13 years of schooling have I ever experienced what it's like to pull an all-nighter. I know many people who did that before an assignment at my school, and they would rock up the next day emanating bad energy and a 'just wing it' mindset :(

I mean. waking up at 4 am just to study is a bit too much and to an actively studying 16-18 year old. That's gonna mess with your body and brain.

My circadian rhytmn is naturally towards 4am/4.30am wake up so back when I had more control of sleep schedule I tended to wake up then. With work I have to adapt to waking up later and going to bed later.
