I went to a selective school (lower range) so that’s not too out of the ordinary for top 5-10ish.

I was ill with bronchitis that week of the HSC so idk my aligned external marks since I did special cons (honestly worse for other people cos I was coughing up buckets - pre-COVID so that was acceptable back then). So they based it on 5-6th internally.

However, the story is interesting since I was originally given 97 as the mark. One of my mates got a results check which rippled through, giving me 98, so I’d assume that position that year was cusp 97-98. I got an ATAR update after that but it stayed at 99.00
