I'm just curious to what it is because I'm fairly familiar to how people apply to American and British universities. I still have a while to go, and I would just like to know how it is to apply to a Canadian University, specially Toronto. Can someone please just tell me how it is like to apply entry for the following: a medical degree, bachelor of science, bachelor of commerce and/or actuary and/or computer science.
Ik Canadian schools don't have the essay requirements (unliked the US) so I think you just apply with your results. Might need to go through an agent so if you're applying to UK and US as well, you might as well ask your agent to do a quick app to Canada.
Also on another note - you've put down all the "prestigious" degrees from a big variety of fields. This is fine imo if you're staying in Australia (very easy to swap and change) but if you make the (especially financial) commitment to study overseas you would want to make the right choice for yourself. In the next 2 years, try to narrow down what you actually want to do and strive for that
Also another thing to keep in mind is professional accreditation if you want to come back to Australia. With things like med, commerce(accounting), and actuarial, you will need to make sure that you can bring your qualification back to Aus with ease. e.g. You wouldn't be able to get an Aus medical internship (required for registration) so you would need to become some sort of specialist in Canada, then you can come back with specialist registration to practise in Aus. Another (made up example) a Canadian accounting degree might not meet CAANZ requirements here, so you would have to do a Canada charter and apply for reciprocal acknowledgement here once you're done.
By the way, if you're thinking of actuarial science then Waterloo is the place to be.
Are you a dual citizen? That may change a few things since you'd have family to stay with? and might be able to access cheaper tuition fees.
