Hi, I just found out from my mid-semester report that I came 47/114 for English Standard. This is the only rank that was pretty average in my report.
Math Adv: 4/37
Math Ext: 18/28
Music 1: 1/20
Biology: 3/49
Business Studies: 4/60

Is it still possible for me to get a HSC mark of 85+ in English Standard, or is all hope lost. Thanks for anyone who takes the time to answer my question, im just a stressed boy Any Eng Standard people who did pretty average in internals but still at the end got a decent HSC mark of 85+? THANKS!

I got 83 overall in English Standard (81 in internals and 85 in the HSC exam), but my final rank was a bit better (43/241).

However, it's definitely still possible to get 85+ as the HSC exam itself is worth 50%, hence a significant contribution to your final mark. Starting now, you need to make sure you are regularly revising your texts as well as improving your essays.

So no, all is not lost.

no of course you still have hope! if you can, maybe invest in tutoring? its never too late and the amount of support it provides is really good

When I enrolled at my school, it was ranked in the 150's. When I graduated it was ranked around the low 200's. In 2020, it was ranked in the low 300's.

I believe they are now working on bringing back the 2018 rank. Admissions have become more strict from what I've heard.
