apparently its too risky to change schools bc i might get bullied and the teaching quality might be worse bc everyone gets coached and the teachers slack off which is true but at my school the teachers are hawks but also teach shittily

every day i thank god i dont pay 30k to self teach lmao i went to the wrong private school

get bullied? I doubt it would happen, usually selective schools have barely any bullying going on unless ur an absolute shithead😂😂
yeah also that

i mean its not the worst outcome but im a little bummed obviously
gotta look on the bright side, its easier to get rank 1 here for HSCs haha (until i get 60 in the external wrbugyeiuweojrgf)

what private do u go? and also if ur private is lower ranked than fort then it’s basically a given that fort is better, regardless of whether ppl get tutored or not. plus fort street doesn’t cost a whopping $30k unlike some of those pathetic money-thirsty privates
actually not necessarily, u could argue better teachers go to the private because of higher salaries

I'm guessing Newington or Kings? Do they do IB? This is the only benefit to staying at a private school imo.

Guys I got a final Penrith offer. But I still didn't receive anything from Girraween. If I accept penriths offer, can I still accept Girraweens when their offer comes or do I have to go to penrith
ik a guy in the exact same situation he accepted penrith's offer tho

haha it's interesting your parents are worried about bullying and the teaching quality.
1. bullying is basically non-existant in the top ranked selective schools.. honestly would think private schools have more internal issues with bullying.

2. teaching quality is subjective. it's most definitely not true that teachers slack off at selective schools because students go coaching. although they may not give the most significant help, i dont think its a valid argument to say they slack off and not fulfil their role...

3. this may be more personal, but if your family is able to financially support you going to a private school, it could have been an option to go to a selective school where it is academically safer and direct the remainder of the "school funds" i guess to your coaching/tutoring side of academics. once you hit yr11/12 and are quite serious about academics you will end up seeking out extra help. even though it may be "easier" to rank 1 internally, for the actual HSC you would be going up against everyone else in the state.

but hopefully you do come to a decision after deep consideration because there's a lot of things to consider changing from priv to selective but yeah just some thought ^^

they already made me hand in the rejection forms last night unfortunately

now im stuck with my current private school, have to do SOR and the teachers are too busy gossiping to teach + creationist science teachers + the higher the year ranks go the more drama there is

im on scholarship so thankfully no fees

idk if my parents even want me to do well since i have to last minute my assignment today bc they spent 2 days arguing with me over this when the due date for enrolments was much later and the due date for the assignment was before that by a few days + now i cant finish the coaching hw for the 4 coaching schools they make me attend bc my school is not good enough

lol ur parents make u attend 4 coaching schools knowing that ur school isn’t “good enough” but they decide to decline the offer from a much higher ranked selective school. kinda wack in my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
yeah they said i can fix all my school problems through coaching as if there's enough hours in a week to fit that many coachings + hw + self study

i already dont have a life outside school and im not coping

i mean some kids can do it but i cant do coaching homework in class

holdup when u mean 4 coaching schools do u mean 1 coaching school u go for one subject?
rn i go 3 maths coachings + 1 for physics hsc but that is temporary bc of a weird arrangement and i wont have to do that anymore
unfortunately the permanent plan is to go to coaching for maths, physics, chemistry, english; and the first 3 will be at dr du, which gives 12 pages of hw per subject yay

yeah i think the plan sounds alright in the sense that you know what subjects you need to focus on. i would suggest that 3 tutoring places for maths is a bit of an overkill?? I say overkill because you're a scholarship student so im assuming you would have a somewhat advanced understanding of all subjects. honestly its best if you find tutors who work well for you. discuss it with your parents tho and see what they say. honestly you would know best about your studies than your parents.

also if the plan was to go to coaching I think it may have been a safer option academically to attend a selective school.. its not impossible, but it is extremely hard to maintain rank 1 at any school for a whole year

3 math coachings?!! what’s the point dont they all cover the same topics?
nah one for adv and 2 for ext and order was different so different topics in each, bc i was thinking of switching to dr du but wanted to compare, and i was going to finish the whole 2 years of adv coursework in the 3rd one so i thought i might as well finish it
+ it helped that i kinda enjoyed having a lot of maths work? i thought i would hate maths after doing that but rn i actually enjoy maths more than before so i think my brain is just built different

idk man bro my parents are sending mixed signals... they are implying i should do medicine but then they pull this shit? one of their reasons for me to stay was so i, as a 100% pureblood ching chong tm, could learn how to bootlick white people in power. unironically. i dont get it either.

it isnt too hard to maintain rank 1, the 2 'best' students excluding me who are accelerating MX1 with me have dropped their marks significantly from 95s to 70s-80s and in revision lessons they don't understand basic concepts that are basically YR10 5.3 extended a bit (eg question: what is sin(-135degrees)), but they still rank higher than the non-accelerated cohort that is doing maths with us...

Do u guys think I should apply for a scholarship to a good ranked private school(like reddam house or smth) just in case I don’t make fort or girra? But if I apply to reddam do u think they give full scholarships?(I’m not that rich man) But reddam House is always ranked better than fort so it kinda doesn’t make sense😂😂
i mean why not try out lol idk if they offer yr9/10 entry scholarships tho

they tend to look for all rounders dont think $30k private schools give out full scholarships purely based on academic performance
