You're in younger years in high school at the moment, it's a good idea not to get into the habit of using it. It costs quite a bit of money and doesn't last very long if you use it constantly. It's better to just cross out that part or scribble it out. Aside from the time that it wastes in an exam, in the HSC you aren't allowed to use correction tape in the exams so it's not a good idea to get into the habit of using it when later on you won't be able to. It's good to have neat books and work as it looks nice but the main thing teachers or anyone marking something cares about is the handwriting legible and easy to read. Aside from that doesn't really matter if there is a bit of scribble on the page over an area you crossed out.

In the HSC you won't have as much exam time to waste on whiting things out. A lot of the exams you might feel pressed for time particularly subjects such as english where a large amount of writing is needed. In maths speed depends on ability, but whiting it out means lets say for example you crossed something out and you didn't have enough time in the end to answer it properly. You can circle that working and just tell the marker use this if you just put like 1 cross through it and it's still readable. This way you can still get some marks, but if you ended up whiting it out and didn't do anything after then you lose any possibility to get any of the marks.

r/woosh. I don't see how it's that difficult to understand the last sentence. Some third party, can you read the original post and see if what I'm saying makes sense. Bro there's actually no way someone's comprehension skills can be this bad.

when you do english or history exams, you have a timer and if you're writing really fast then you accidentally misspell a word or write down the wrong thing, you would spend more time on just whiting it out and its not even like a rubber where you can just quickly get rid of it, you would have to put some effort into actually whiting it out and that time you spend will eventually build up as you make more mistakes in other paragraphs. When you're writing fast, making some mistakes is the norm and just crossing it out is the most efficient way to do so. If you really don't like crossing out or you prefer white out more, try using it for making your notes or something more passive but please try to lose the dependency.

TL;DR just try to slowly lose your dependency on white outs for your own sake. Pretty sure this is a one-sided argument since everyone agrees its inefficient and you can't even use it for your HSC (and even internal exams depending on your school)
