You should check out The Lives of Others, a film by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Some of the main ideas this film encompasses include:

• good vs evil
• oppression
• power
• identity
• morality.

In terms of what the film is about - before the collapse of the Berlin Wall, pro-Socialist playwright Georg's flat is bugged to find incriminating evidence against him when a corrupt government official falls for his girlfriend.
