its dot product but rearrange for cos. since cos is in between -1 and 1, you but the a.b/|a||b| in between those then absolute value so its only less than 1.

i just realised i fkd the difference of squares part for that
i did (4-x)(4+x) far out, its (2-x)(2+x) wasnt it . oh well two more marks lost

why did you sub in time of flight. i did dot product. then discriminant is greater than 0 to get a range for theta.
