Looking at the pharmacy degree via the e12. Is there such a thing as an arts/pharmacy degree? Or can it be added on later or something?
I sincerely apologise if this is a dumb question.

It does not seem like USyd offers a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Pharmacy program. USyd's Bachelor of Arts can be combined with a number of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including:
  • The Bachelor of Engineering Honours
  • The Doctor of Medicine
  • The Bachelor of Laws
  • The Bachelor of Advanced Studies
  • The Master of Nursing
Currently, USyd offers 2 pharmacy-related undergraduate programs, being:
  • The Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • The Bachelor of Pharmacy and Management
It does not seem like these 2 degrees can be currently combined with another degree, as opposed to the Bachelor of Arts.

Additionally, it is important to note that both of the above-mentioned programs will become the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)/Master of Pharmacy Practice from 2023.

I hope this helps! 😄

Wait, does that mean that you have to take another course, finish that, then do a specialisation?

Specialisations (or majors) are typically embedded into the degrees. For instance, USyd's Bachelor of Arts offers numerous majors, including:
  • American Studies
  • Ancient History
  • Archaeology
  • Criminology
  • English
  • Music
USyd's Bachelor of Pharmacy offers 2 majors, being:
  • Industrial Pharmacy
  • International Pharmacy

Do not study pharmacy. Unless you have family in pharmacy (e.g. your dad will pass the keys to the business to you), DO yourself a favour and don't study pharmacy. Pharmacy right now has the worst career prospect out of all health professions.
Give this a read: https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/ugfjzc It's the only profession where there is a union with the aim of keeping your pay low. On average, most pharmacists will end up working in retail which is $30 p/h which no yearly increment. You are literally on $30ph for the next 20-30 years.
