How do I do 18 and 20 ? I tried writing down the parametric equations but still got stuck and confused.

I will consider only question 18.

The question is fairly easy. You want to come up with two equations for beta. You can do this using right angle trigonometry. We know that the point P is (Vcos(alpha)*t, -gt^2/2 + Vsin(alpha)*t).

You also want consider direction which is going given the velocities. Also you want to use trigonometry.
