a souble degree should be more work since if usually adds one or two years and u get two degrees to finish a program instead of soing it consecutively
but how is tjis not more work rhen u need more courses done in a smaller time

its not more work term by term, u still take 3 classes a semester or however many as u would if u took a single degree. obviously it takes more time but there isn't a higher workload

With double degrees, the reason why it doesn't take as much time as you'd think it would take (is what i think you're asking?) is because there are overlaps in courses between the 2 degrees so it's mostly (iirc) the 3rd and 4th year content that extends the duration of your study

in a single degree, there's a bunch of free electives courses you can choose from (so like if you're doing a single degree in economics or smth there's a space in that degree where you can pick a course from another degree/faculty just for fun and stuff that's not really related to the degree like idk languages or physics). in a double degree the free elective requirements from both the separate degrees ur taking are filled up by the other degree. that's the reason why it doesn't take like way longer to finish both degrees (like yeah it's def longer than doing one degree by itself but it's not like each degree length added up in total)

it is in some regards lol whos saying its not

a guy doing cs can finish the degree normally in 3 years and if they rush it, possibly in 2 years. the guy doing cs & (insert degree here). has to juggle another degree and focus on diff content which at times might not be related to the other degree. this can be considered refreshing since you're not stuck in one subject for your whole uni time but it also means you have more stuff to think about. ig its all subjective but ofc a longer degree will be more harder in terms of enduring more courses.

what it means is that its not worth doing a double degree just "because" but its worth doing a double degree if u acc want to specialise in both fields.

I guess to clarify, what I meant is it takes more time, which is a given. obviously double degrees are more work whether the degrees are done separately or simultaneously
