Plans for compulsory maths for year 11 and 12 students in NSW dumped

In a letter to principals across the state, the NSW Education Standards Authority has today said a plan for NSW students in Year 11 and Year 12 to be required to study maths in future will not go ahead.

i guess its good coz like some students literally cant do math (like they struggle with math standard which would bring their atar down) but idk, especially with usyd removing its math prerequisites so obv ppl who havent done math r gonna try going into courses that would need math now

Maths becoming compulsory isnt even that bad tho coz theres the numeracy course (course literally made for those who dislike math or see no point in it)
