My depth study is conducted on whether drag force is directly proportional to velocity for an object in free fall and low speed motion. Since its essentially an experiment that verifies a known fact, would a hypothesis be required? Thanks :)

according to my y7-11 experience its a pretty standard part of a scientific report so it shouldn't hurt to put it in imo

Yes, the hypothesis needs to be in there, otherwise what are you investigating? Your hypothesis creates the inquiry question, and your hypothesis must be referred to in your closing remarks to determine if you achieved what you set out to do.
Spoiler Alert: drag force is not proportional to velocity, but I'll let you discover what function offers the best fit to the data.
