Hii!!!! I'm want to do something in medicine once I graduate but I've heard so many mixed things about which uni is the best in NSW? any tips?? what uni would be best for someone wanting to do med? or if I wanna do something specific like pediatrician or ob/gyn? Thank you!

med is so competitive that you better just take what you can get. plus uni really doesn't matter in med, you get the stamp of accreditation and you're a doctor, so it doesn't matter where you get that stamp of accreditation from - curriculum is standardised too from memory so it's going to be a pretty similar experience at any uni. for specialising to be a pediatrician or ob/gyn that's something you do after completing your doctor of medicine/equivalent and again is something irrelevant to uni, after a year of general doctor work you apply to the necessary governing body like the RACS, RACP etc and then go through the necessary training process (usually a few years) to get the qualifications to work in the specialisation eg pediatrics.

oh ok thank you!! its just ive heard about like unsw vs usyd med (plus others like notre dame, macquaire etc) so that's why I'm torn between which uni is best

Doesn’t matter. All the med schools are good and NSW internships are allocated via lottery system. Once you graduate no one cares which med school you went to.
