Is this for short answer responses? Or your common mod essay?

yeah what are you referring to? form is pretty important to mention since it's usually linked to the author's context. E.g. Shakespeare uses the tragicomedy form in The Tempest (my text for mod a) to reflect the Jacobean belief of the Great Chain of Being.

The literary form refers to the genre or the overall structure of a work, and it is crucial for understanding the context and intentions of the author. In your example, you mention the tragicomic form used by Shakespeare in The Tempest. This genre combines elements of tragedy and comedy, allowing Shakespeare to explore complex themes with nuances of hope and redemption.

In the case of The Tempest, the tragicomic form is particularly significant because it reflects the Jacobean belief in the Great Chain of Being, a divinely ordained hierarchy that influences all forms of life and events in the universe. The structure of the play, which mixes moments of suffering and chaos with episodes of reconciliation and harmony, underscores this vision of natural order and divine intervention.

So, when we talk about form in literature, we refer to how the genre and structure of a work help convey its themes and reflect the cultural and philosophical context of its time. This is vital for a deep understanding of the text and the author's intentions.

Do you, by chance, have a table, docs or website that lists all the poetic techniques, how to analyse using them and examples of them?

And maybe another table, or so, for general texts? Because l'm rlly struggling with techniques and i suppose its not smth that could be fixed overnight.
