PLZ HELP W SUBJECT SELECTION (1 Viewer)

i have till tomorrow n i dont know for shit what my sixth subject is going to be

im doing 2 sciences n dont want to do more
my deputy principal does not recommend me doing non-atar bc of a couple for reasons im not bothered writing
im doing math
i cant analyse for shit so social sciences is not the way to go
i hate commerce (so a big NO to economics, business studies and legal studies etc.)
my parents wont allow me to get a job so no for VET
languages only one at my skl which im going to be doing
tas subjects (food tech, textiles, ist…) i have NO background knowledge at all so that will be stupid if i choose them

so literally nothing to do, im so stuck And it its due tomorrow!! im good at commerce ngl but i DESPISE IT (i was forced into for both yr 9 and yr 10 i never chose it)

PLZ I DESPERATELY NEED HELP CHOOSING MY SIXTH SUBJECT!! (I can provide a list of subjects my skl offers if that will help?)

Tbh I don't think background knowledge in tas subjects is COMPLETELY necessary. I know someone who was forced to pick between a few subjects and ended up picking textiles despite having absolutely no experience and she's doing fine from what I've heard. But if you really have no other subjects you can choose, unfortunately you really might just have to choose commerce and drop it in y12

I think so to actually i might just chose economics depsite a lot saying business studies is ‘easier’ bc my essay skills are good for english but not other subjects (dk how to explain it ) anyways yh imma just choose eco atp thx tho

Considering your subject load, i'd def consider doing business / PE. Business isn't a lot about the economy, and I think it can be super interesting. PE is a lot of common sense, and if you're into sport its pretty fun. I wouldn't take up eco if you don't want to though. If you're not motivated for it + its a heavy one, it'll be a much bigger drag to do well.

But yeah if you despise commerce, dont pick eco lol. I'd 10000% recommend business. it's just syllabus memorization mixed with common sense.

Im not taking pe due to the syllabus change n everything chnaged, like there isnt anymore hsc past papers, people dont have past experiences w it so doesnt know what to expect n yh

Oh fair. mx2 is E2 maths.

But seriously consider business. Only because of how much you dislike commerce. I did commerce --> Eco. I was lucky that I loved commerce so i loved eco (the similar parts at least). I'd def say business is easier and more interesting tho

ok ill put it down as a sixth subject also for e2 math im not sure, i need to see if i pass e1 first bc in my skl out if 14 students in yr 11 (2/14 were accelerated students) only 5 passed n the rest literally failed mind u that all 12 students were the top 20 of their yr 10 for math last yr so… maybe ill see how i go in that class n then see (Also only one student got 90% which was an accelerated kid n the next highest was 63% so u see that gap…)

Oh yeah thats fair enough. i was just curious because usually picking up 4u math means you drop an existing unit. GL tho with what you pick : )

Litrally everyone who i've asked that have graduated have said to do business studies, without me even bringing the topic up. That's how I ended up choosing it, never done commerce as an elective and I'll probably despise it. Take a look at the NSW supplied past papers to see what type of content they will be asking for any subject really, if it doesn't resonate with you just don't pick it.

If you want to then go for it. If you're willing to learn you're going to end off much better than doing a subject you have the ability to do but hate.
