Does anyone ever score 100 on externals? (1 Viewer)

Yes, this is definitely possible, and can happen in any subject as long as the student performs at the highest standard. For example, a BoS user from the 2022 HSC cohort (cyniczny) received 100 as her overall HSC mark in French Beginners and also came first in the state. Assuming that she was ranked first in her cohort, she would have scored 100 on her HSC exam to achieve a perfect overall HSC mark. :)

man thats crazy. imagine being the marker of that paper, i wonder if they double mark stuff when its full marks

I think that they would, since responses within a full-mark paper may be considered atypical (in the sense that they are of perfect quality) which, according to NESA, warrants the involvement of a senior marker and a supervisor of marking, who will allocate marks.

scoring 100 as your HSC mark is less common than getting 100 in externals alone, since it requires acing both internals and externals. like im pretty sure the state rankers for maths advanced (for instance) every year get raw 100 in the HSC

yea usually the first in state will get 100% (idk if thats raw or aligned though)
