Hey guys, im going into Year 12 but have been having many "panic attacks" that my subjects arent high scaling.

These are my subjects:

Maths Adv
Eng Adv
Economics
Modern History
Business Studies
IT Multimedia (dropping in Yr 12):

I'am just worried that since they are all HSIE, I may not get more than a 90 ATAR. I am doing well ( a bit above average) in these subjects (except English) but I can do even more well if I just implement a few things. But please tell me if my subjects are high scaling just to get me more than a 90, like a 93 or 94. Its because I want to do Comp Sci here in UNSW and that decision to do this course was a bit late (after my subject selections), so yeah.

I tend to have these anxiety attacks not about the content of my subject but of the subject itself and its scaling. Has happened a few times throughout the year and I reassure myself after reading a few articles here on BoS but then I forget and back to square one.

Please, please, please dont have panic attacks about scaling!! I do all humanities and am projected in the 90s. I know several others who have done HSIE subjects and have achieved 90+ atars, the highest person I know received a 96. You need to do well in them certainly, high band 5s and 6s, but you are better off doing subjects you enjoy, will put the time into and score highly in, than subjects that 'scale high'. Economics (if i remember correctly) is one of the best scaling humanities too. Youll def need to lift your marks but its possible to get a 90

Oh okay thank you very much for your reply. It has reassured me a lot and yeah I will have to lift up my marks definitely but yeah I know I can do it, it's just confidence that is needed. Thank you very much and good luck for your hsc.

if you do well scaling won't matter, doing hsie only sucks scaling wise if you a) do bad or b) trying to get a 99.95, the chem, physics, 4u kids will beat you out on scaling, but that is far above the 90 atar you want.

A dude in my school last year got a 97 only doing humanities. He did state rank modern history, but other then that just solid band 6's will get you there (to mid 90s) so over 90 is definitely doable
