Hi there,

I’m planning to apply for entry to Year 11 at Normanhurst Boys High School in 2026 and had a few questions to help me prepare. Could you please let me know which extracurricular activities would be beneficial for my application? Additionally, what kind of reports should I be aiming for, considering there are 8 subjects involved?

I’m also wondering if you could provide some tips on how to best prepare for the entrance test, specifically for the math and English sections. Could you let me know which topics are covered in the math section and what is generally included in the English part? Also, is there any science component in the test?

extracurriculars - at least 1 or 2 things, leadership included - this isn't a determining factor they care more about your marks tho, if you have something extremely impressive it might give you a small edge over others but otherwise it doesnt matter thant much

reports - mostly As, a few Bs wouldn't hurt but its not ideal obv, just maximise your As. i think if you perform worse at things like PDHPE they dont care as much as if it were maths that you are doing worse at as well but try to do well overall.

entrance test - dont know much atp you should ask others.
