literally nobody is talking about you or saying you are in the wrong. your teacher made a mistake adding up your marks and added them up properly which does not mean they gave you extra marks, they just fixed their mistake, meaning neither or you are in the wrong. im not even replying to you im talking to @Average Boreduser bc he says its not deep to give out free marks in y10 just bc you asked for them. you need to stop being defensive when nobody is blaming you or saying you are wrong because it is embarrassing. just to reiterate you are not in the wrong i am talking hypothetically
Replied to the wrong comment n i wasnt being defensive im just clearing whats going on 😭🙏

Bro if that was the case for any assessment, I'd be rank 5+ in my school if I asked for more marks in my e1 assessment task 2... but I had to bust my ass off for t3 and 4 to bring my average back up to a sufficient standing. I guess this case is somewhat fine since you want to do e1 but don't expect that sort of treatment afterwards 😭
Nah dw ik not to

"I am sorry to say that I have found a data entry error. One of your multiple-choice answers was entered as 11 instead of 1, so this increased your total by 10 extra marks. Your new mark is 61.5/79, which is still an impressive mark. Thank you for your honesty in letting me know that there was a problem."

issue resolved but i'm now left sad

Don’t be sad.
You have integrity and it will stand you in good stead.

Yr 10 science marks don’t have any impact on the HSC (at some schools, maths marks might impact who gets to do extension maths, but I’ve never heard of stage 5 science marks determining what science subjects students can take). Study well from now on (including revising where you lost marks in this science test) and there’s a good possibility you will succeed in future.

Best wishes,
EM
