hahaha bro really said clifford chance, dentons and allen & overy

can u pls just stop

you clearly have no clue what you're talking about if you're seriously bringing up those law firms as it just shows your lack of knowledge about the whole field.

there is heavy bias towards USYD law students. 3 of my relatives have quite literally worked at these firms. I would know, it's been like this for decades.

Tell me more, Mr 16 year old.

These are the three biggest firms by revenue that operate in Aus. Perfectly justifiable to look at as a sample. Happy to check any of your firms though, considering much of my family are lawyers in big law firms and they've all said the same stuff about it not really mattering, and every law firm I've found on the internet or that they work for has the same distribution of students. Can keep trying to cope but no one has been able to find any tangible evidence that USYD is somehow better, and all rankings, employment, and any other actual data seems to point to a slight tilt in UNSW's favour.

That being said, I would still pick USYD Law. Law with trimesters sounds aids.

what big law firms do ur family members work at, curious
Not going to answer for privacy reasons. But some in the kind of firms I sent before, some in legal departments at the big 4, some in government, decent sample size of the sort of roles you'll see law students looking into pursuing.

I would advise you to worry more so about finishing off your HSC in 2 years rather than trying to advise high school graduates as though mr 16 year old is the pinnacle of knowledge 🤣 when you get out of your selective school bubble you'll realise even the rubbish you hear from other 16 year olds isnt exactly reflective of what the job market actually looks like, and the only objective things you should look at are statistics - whether it be through finding a ranking system that is a clear methodology that you can get behind, or doing some independent checking yourself - I learnt the linkedin advice from a good friend and its definitely a great tool to look at to see what kind of degrees and also what universities the alumni at whatever business you want to work for in the future are from.

Because you know damn well that thats not what they've said because no one says that. Both universities are fine. UNSW can be argued to be better, but USYD doesn't have trimesters so it wins. Either uni is fine for big law, but the real question you should be asking is why bother studying a bum degree like law compared to a real degree like engineering?
