didn't try for ext 1 and teacher didn't let me take ext 2( got 50% because I didn't study at all) studied and now find ext pretty fun n adv boring as hell

current subjects: ext 1, math adv, sci ext, eng adv, phy, chem and buisness studies

wish i could replace math adv with ext 2, is it possible, or too late 🤔 term 1 already over and j did good in ext 1. adv is so boring😔I hate financials maths. it's gonna be term 2 soon, will enough begging work to switch to ext 2 ??

Try changing if you think it'll make ur atar better (which in this case, no doubt).
But if you think you'll struggle w/ ext 2, then stick to adv.

I think the trickiest part is if the Extn 2 class has already completed an assessment task (topic test or assignment) because in such a scenario, what would the teacher submit for your mark, which would go towards your internal HSC mark?? If no assessment task has yet been completed, you should approach the teacher/head of maths dept ASAP. I guess even if an assessment task has been competed, you could negotiate some sort of make-up assessment task, but that may be trickier to get approval.

PS - you’d probably still have to attend advance maths classes and complete their assessment tasks even if you are doing Extn 2 - the only difference would be that the marks wouldn’t count.

i would not do that actually bc youre a bit worse off than students that did last term already. not impossible to catch up and all but i would say with the combo of subjects that you do, the workload will be extremely jarring and on top of that youre behind compared to everyone else? sounds like a bad idea to me personally idk

adv math is boring as hell (trust me ik) but its easier to band 6 esp if you're good at ext 1 so id keep it. being good at ext1 helps but ext 2 is a bit of a different skillset altogether in my opinion (not everyone that is good at ext 1 is good at ext 2) so you dont know if you'll be good at it just yet

i also dk if begging will work actually bc teachers usually let you drop subjects in term 2 but not pick stuff up bc its more work for teachers to help catch you up + there is the risk of you sucking at ext 2 and needing extra support (understandably) so they dont want to do all that

lol this gives me flashbacks

and honestly i dont really think its worth your time to catch up on extension 2, just sick with adv and ace it.

lmaoo right? also yeah you're right its not worth your time to catch up on ext 2

the cost of losing time to study and get good at your other subjects outweighs the benefit of potentially picking up ext 2 and doing well at it
