hey so idrk why im making this post but
im in year 12 this year and I'm looking to get a 98+ atar in the hsc 2025.
I've had some struggles with mental health ever since year 10 so it has made studying difficult for me (especially this year) but definitely not impossible. my marks for each of my subjects are above average for my school (sgghs, hsc rank 38th for 2024). to get to my goal i know I'll need to improve my ranks to at least top 10 for all of my subjects.
i know year 12 isn't easy for anyone and i definitely don't have it as bad at all but I'm just looking for some words of advice or anyone who's going through a similar thing to me as i find it hard to imagine doing well at my current pace :') i know i need to get my stuff together. still trying to every day!!!
thanks

I'm in a similar position as you where I've consistently had untreated issues with my mental health from middle school onwards but still gotten reasonable grades. i think that there's an added layer of struggle when studying because of that but at the end of the day the results you get from taking some time to recollect yourself compared to forcing yourself to revise when you're not in the right headspace are better. i know for me I get incredibly nervous about my work compared to my classmates but my advice is just to recognise that there are always going to be people insane at academics but that doesn't define your self worth or completely determine how hard you worked. time passes and each day comes and goes - there's a finish line at the end!!!!! keep trying your best :hug2:

hey girl, i go sgghs too! if you're really struggling maybe consider going to the student support officer or the school psychologist. ive seen the SSO a couple of times and it was really helpful to talk to someone about my concerns w school ( i was stressing since i falling behind in class BAD ) + she helps you with establishing a good study routine.
hope everything works out for u!

also.
just a question... do ur year 12 teachers and classes stay the same as year 11. lmaoooo
