What instrument? I love playing Chopin's Nocturnes because they're not too difficult to learn but allow for a lot of expression - I know they're not 20 mins long though

chopin's nocturnes are SOOOOO pretty, and his piano concertos 😍 (I watched forest of piano...)

Wowwww ANY instrument??! You must be crazy talented  And ikr, I loveee Chopin's music

Honestly I really envy all you music 2 folks because I don't have much time to play piano anymore... You have your subject as an excuse

If you want something classical classical, you could try Haydn's sonatas. They're very fun to play, although I'm getting a hunch that you might find them too easy

I kinda wish I did music now but I feel like I would have picked it if I went to a different school but also it would be kind traumatising. Idk I’ve always had a love hate relationship for piano

Omg yeahh I've been listening to ballet suites. Do you have any recs for classical music?

I only do 3U but we're doing differential equations for some reason :/ I hate drawing slope fields

I feel I need to specify I'm a violinist (so cliche ik)
VIOLINNNN I wish I could play that

Yahh I didn't pick it bc even though I love playing piano, I have rlly bad stage fright and I'm also hopeless at composition. Still wish I didn't need to feel guilty of wasting time when practicing these days, though

That's fair
Sometimes I feel the amount of hours ppl put into their instrument should really be considered more in HSC haha (like so many of the music 2 kids have been putting in thousands of hours since childhood...ig that's why it scales well)

differential equations is genuinely so gross ngl
Violin is good fun - and I'll check out some ballet suites, any favs?

uhhhhhhh my recs would depend on what sorta stuff you like, I'm very much in my modernist phase but lots of people don't like it (rite of spring my beloved)
as I said earlier I really like the shostakovich violin concerto
mahler 3 is a really pretty symphony

Yeah that's true too, there are so many sweaty musicians in music 2 so that also sorta scared me (especially bc half of the kids are pianists so COMPETITION)

I used to do ballet so I like ballet music bc I can sorta feel the movement in my bones ykyk, but I really like Don Quixote, La Bayadere and Paquita. Not everyone's thing though

I'll try to widen my taste too! Rite of spring sounds great

My school doesn’t offer music 2 sadly. I feel like I would have been more likely to pick it if they did offer it
