If you follow the pattern — 2023 had imaginative and discursive*, and 2024 had persuasive and discursive — wouldn’t that mean 2025 would logically be persuasive and imaginative? (LOL hoping it is)- also how are u confirming the mod c partSince I predicted 3/5 of last years questions basically word for word (https://boredofstudies.org/threads/english-advanced-predictions-thoughts.410787/), here are my predictions that you asked for. Keep in mind I haven't thought about English in a year, so this is purely gut vibes.
SHORT ANSWER
There will be 5 short answer texts:
1. Prose fiction
2. Poem
3. Prose Non-fiction
4. Prose Non-fiction
5. Poem
No images this year, sorry.
There will be 5 questions.
1 - 2 Marker (Text 1)
2 - 3 Marker (Text 2)
3 - 5 Marker (Texts 2 & 3)
4 - 4 Marker (Text 4)
5 - 6 Marker (Texts 4 & 5)
------------------------------
COMMON MOD ESSAY
Will be a question involving, how does your prescribed text ignite new ideas in regards to (smthg about paradoxes). This will be harder than it looks at first glance, as they'll ask for the paradoxes OF something, e.g. How does [your text] ignite readers to consider new perspectives on the paradoxes of (insert niche human experience).
------------------------------
MOD A
Feel like the idea of the authors context will be in the question. Maybe a 'To what extent'?? So maybe you'd be analysing the two texts, through the lens of their contextual epochs, which I think is somewhat tricky, but ultimately wouldn't require too many tweaks to a base essay.
------------------------------
MOD B
Going to be adjacent to the idea of structural integrity (maybe asking how a certain idea within the text is developed?).
------------------------------
MOD C
I can confirm, you WILL get a choice. Likely to be 15 and 5 marker.
room 101And in case that happens, remember according to google:
NESA is located on Level 4, 117 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000 and our office hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday.
you'd be surprised. alot of ppl do rlly bad a compdoes anyone know what the average for reading comp usually is across the state. i would feel like it is rlly high cause u just have to have like a simple and somewhat understanding of the text with the right amount of TEA's to get full marks
but is it harsh marking or what. like do they only take marks away for like if u have incomplete TEA's, incorrect techniques, not answering the question (such as judgement for evaluate) or do people just not finish reading comp but it seems most doyou'd be surprised. alot of ppl do rlly bad a comp
Yeh I think you might be right. And considering what happened with the essay question today I think we should spend more time on study what we know rather than stressing over this small slim opportunity.i highlyyyy doubt it will be persuasive, considering we spend like no time on them in school and it was an option last yr
Its going to be really bad this yeardoes anyone know what the average for reading comp usually is across the state. i would feel like it is rlly high cause u just have to have like a simple and somewhat understanding of the text with the right amount of TEA's to get full marks
They're actually not that harsh. Have a look at the band 5/6 responses they're super basic. If you're a bit more sophisticated than that you're fine.but is it harsh marking or what. like do they only take marks away for like if u have incomplete TEA's, incorrect techniques, not answering the question (such as judgement for evaluate) or do people just not finish reading comp but it seems most do
i actually think why sometimes reading comp can be hard is that kids tend to be too sophisticated that their ideas are convoluted and don't make sense, but then again it depends on the text. Like the poem today it's hard not to be sophisticated cause its metaphorical, but stuff thats literal like text 4 u can maybe get away with being less sophisticated and just providing some form of an insight with appropriate TEA's. i would be curious what the stats are on how many kids in the state don't finishThey're actually not that harsh. Have a look at the band 5/6 responses they're super basic. If you're a bit more sophisticate than that you're fine.
Also I know plenty of people that either struggle with timing or just don't know the basics of analysing texts
yeah, ascham '22 i thinkthere's trial questions like that right?
like the prescribed texts, mine are Zadie Smith and Column McCannwait wdym in class text analysis sorry for the dumb question
Persuasive is a meme option. If you choose it, the marker will immediately think you don't take Mod C seriously.Fuck like I got an imaginative and discursive memorised but istg if they want to put a 15/5 persuasive or do some bullshit like that, NESA is gonna get nuked
that'd be such a prankPersuasive is a meme option. If you choose it, the marker will immediately think you don't take Mod C seriously.
My English teacher told me if it is forced persuasive all of her marker friends will quit on the spot so yeah. There ain't no way they're sifting through 50 "firstly secondly thirdly" per hour.that'd be such a prank
Naplan is where we did this actual persuasive writingMy English teacher told me if it is forced persuasive all of her marker friends will quit on the spot so yeah. There ain't no way they're sifting through 50 "firstly secondly thirdly" per hour.
