naaahh legit?!? then why are they picking mid AHH yr 11 entry kids huh not yr 7 kids who literally got 5 superiors in their test huh

There was only 1 spot for year 8 this year. Because of the amount of people applying of course there will be multiple year 7 kids with 5 superiors, but they can only choose the best to fill up the spots of people who left. So they narrow it down by looking at reports and extracurriculars.
By year 11, not many people take the test and some people who get accepted reject the offer, as it is hard to adjust to a new friend group and different marking standards.

For year 10 it depends on how many people leave, this year it was 1. For year 11 it's ~10

That's why it's called a selective school, they can only select the very best. If they did not select it would be called a public school

yeah lmao i mean year 8 entry is slim cause no one really enters that fast, but year 11 idk why its there, its too far in the school years to be there, and usually its mediocre people who get in, so theres not really any point of having year 11 transfers, but it is what it is (

What schools u gonna apply for yr 10 entry?? i think u should prolly do sydney tech again, i just got in, and with ur current study, i think you'll make it in as long as u keep working hard, but then again theres a small degree of luck, so its not purely meritocratic

Well just for some context I scored roughly top 30% in the hast and my predicted year 8 sem 2 reports and 7A and 1B (B in pdh). year 8 sem 1 reports had 4a and 4b with Bs in math, geography, technology, and pdh.

I really wanna get into sydney tech too ngl since I hear they have amazing faculties but do you reckon that’s good enough of an application cause I lowkey dunno (also I might have to 3rd pref it so I can do Girraween and Penrith unless u think I shouldn’t )

didnt soemone get into ruse this year with only 2 superiors? yeah the standards have lowered id say from like the past ten years, its really how you compose your portfolio and test performance and obviously the comp. in year 8-9 for ruse, you have to perform well academically, in year 11 entry for ruse - academics are quite low in standards, and extra curricular is high, but it all depends on the competition youll face

Well just for some context I scored roughly top 30% in the hast and my predicted year 8 sem 2 reports and 7A and 1B (B in pdh). year 8 sem 1 reports had 4a and 4b with Bs in math, geography, technology, and pdh.

You got a point lol but one of my friends told me I can apply for 9 schools total with 3 different forms, one for hast, one for edutest and then the other for schools like Sydney boys or normanhurst with their own application. Dont know if that’s true but if it is I will apply for a ton of schools

Yeah but you have to pay money to sit the test per school iirc, that's gonna be hella expensive

I mean I heard the first hast school is 130 then the other 2 are 50 and it’s the same with edutest schools I believe.. so I’d only pay like $450

My friend made 3 separate forms for the 3 schools he chose and first preferenced them all and got in to normanhurst vro
