Hey BoS! I'm Isabella, a 2025 graduate from a selective top 10 school in NSW. HSC results are not out yet, but as of now, these are my internal results.
  • 1st in Economics, Maths Advanced and a Continuers language (done externally)
  • Top 10 in English Advanced and Maths Ext 1
  • Top 25 in Biology, but 1st in trials
However, I believe that what matters more than any academic award is my consistent and substantial improvement across all subjects, from junior years to Year 11 and eventually the HSC. To make this happen, I relied on independent study but sought help when I needed it.

Indeed, a tutor cannot bring you from failing grades to straight As simply by teaching content. Thus, I hope that I can also impart some wisdom from my personal experiences and help motivate you through an extremely demanding time.

I am now offering private tutoring for the following Preliminary/HSC courses:

  • Economics
    • I will explain concepts in intuitive ways to build a strong foundation, teach essay writing (unlimited marking/feedback for practice essays) and exam techniques, plus whatever the student needs. I'm extremely passionate about eco, so I'd also be eager to discuss how theory can be applied to the real world, which is what makes the subject interesting. I'm aware of the new syllabus for 2027 grads, so I will study it and adapt my teaching to the new format.
  • English Advanced/Standard
    • I specialise in these prescribed texts: The Crucible, The Tempest/Hag-seed, T. S. Eliot's poetry. I will guide you through a deep analysis of these texts to help you develop your own unique ideas. Regardless of prescribed texts, I can teach and mark creative/discursive writing, short answer responses, and help with general essay-scaffolding techniques. I understand that English can be a very frustrating subject, but I will do my best to help you find confidence in it, as the recipe for success is really quite simple. My school consistently ranks within the top few schools for HSC English, so I also have plenty of valuable exemplar essays to assist you.
  • Maths Advanced/Extension 1
    • I will teach you how to approach questions and notice patterns within each topic, along with broader exam technique, including how to minimise silly mistakes and iron out inconsistencies.
  • Biology
    • Do you understand the content, but continue to struggle with hitting all the marking criteria? Or, do you find the content itself overwhelming? Either way, I was once in the same position, and my drastic improvement in HSC Biology came with months of experimentation. I believe that I can help you get back on track with this subject, or simply give you a bit of a boost to absolutely excel.
For Year 7-10 students, I am also teaching:
  • Maths
  • English
  • Science
  • Commerce
All students will gain access to exclusive notes/exemplar essays/practice materials used by high-achieving students from top schools, many of which were written by me. I can also offer advice on how to excel in HSC language courses.

Many of you have probably seen me around on this forum! As a Well-Known Member, I have actively participated in discussions, offered advice and answered questions on here throughout my HSC year. I have also assisted members such as @jane1820, @m_avi and @niecoups, in specific subjects, along with many students from my school. I hope they can vouch for my enthusiasm and genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

My current, heavily discounted rates are $45 /hr for 1-on-1 lessons, and $30 /hr each for group lessons, negotiable for longer sessions or larger groups.

I teach both online via Zoom or Google Meet, and in-person within the Hills District, along the Metro line from Tallawong to Central, or the T9 train line from Hornsby to West Ryde (other locations can be considered). I'm charging a $10 flat fee to travel to and from any in-person destination -- this covers transport costs and is negotiable depending on the destination, but not the duration of the lesson.

Please contact me for more details, or to organise a FREE 1-hr trial/consultation lesson. Send me a private message by clicking on my profile icon and 'Start conversation', or email me at lasagna766@gmail.com.

Cheers! I look forward to hearing from you :bosman:

I haven't gotten my marks back for English Short Answer Comprehension yet. However as a previously (hopefully) failing english student , I went into the exam feeling much more confident in myself after I sought out Hehehe22's assistance.
They're very approachable and kind which I extremely loved!!

100% recommend this diva 😍

guys this baddie actually helped me get 90+ for both my economic tasks (19/20 for AT1 and 18/20 for AT2), she gives thorough feedback and always goes beyond to ensure my essays are a band 6 level, she also once helped me with my bio responses and i got an 86% (very close to a 90%) for a specific task securing me rank 1 for that task, shes so sweet and very approachable

and most importantly is always supportive, would 100% recommend

imma try my best to excel but if i struggle (which i hope not at girra - im transferring there successfully 4 yr 10 btw ! ) I'll seek ur help like during prelims/hsc/atar. Also, is ur hourly charge better than the Matrix Year 11/12 English advanced in terms? Also, if I were to use ur tutoring service, would it be more like a term course, or when u feel like you need help with smt, like an assessment task or improving in some areas n schedule it b4 hand? lastly in one session, do u allow help with various subjects or stricly one subject at a time?

Sorry if I'm bothering you, but I'd love a mentor/teacher who has themselves experimented, learnt their lessons, and mastered their weaknesses, etc., and felt it personally too in such a competitive academic environment. Also i do well in eng but not as professionally good or on the spot perhaps when given a question or something like that like i struggle or tend to use um gemini to help me undertsand or better phrase etc so technically barely able to do it without it u can say.

Cuz i never mastered writing or English as child, much like scholarly kids who beautifully write anything in writing or analyse in english convey it in such great way at young age with scholarly service or either didn't benefit holistically when attending tutoring in class. 4 scholarly i found abt it lately n was able to do one term novelty study since do more 4 youger kids not much 4 older kids, which surprisingly improved from 38/50 to consistent 44/45 out 50 in just few wks w them only ( like i was surprised i did that when i read it cuz i even stopped ai to help me with it or max used for grammar mistakes probably) so yea i have potential but i need coaching n refinement. this as a result 20 - 50 % of the time affects my writing skills across other subjects when it involves writing long, extended responses or smt like that.

I rlly hope I'll do great n hope to rlly convince my parents to do ur tutoring if i rlly need it cuz they believe english matrix 4 them is rlly good in their eyes due to their 1-1 workshops, lessons online, structured book lessons, its hw n review questions n its termly topic exam, which i feel im going to struggle to do or smt yk like i wanna to learn n master the quality of writing/eng rather then just learn abt english texts etc like idk how to explain it much hope u understand me. also

Hi! First of all, I can tell that you're already doing incredibly well. You're only in Year 9 this year, but you've been actively working on improving your academic performance, and it's working. That improvement in English marks is a great start, and your successful transfer to Girra is definitely an achievement. When I was your age, I also struggled to get top scores in English, but I began figuring things out in Year 10 and gradually improved with practice. Part of it is simply the confidence that you can write works that you're proud of. Your marks are just validating that.

I've never heard of Scholarly, and I'm not too sure about the hourly rate at Matrix, but I can confidently say that my hourly rate is highly competitive for the type of service that I'm offering. The main advantage is that this is always 1-on-1, so I can get to know you over time and tailor my teaching to your specific needs. It's also extremely flexible, so you can book lessons whenever you need them, with no obligations and variable lesson duration. Since you want to master the "quality of writing", which is actually very wise, I can provide you with many essay exemplars and creative writing samples for inspiration. For the Prelim/HSC courses, I also offer term courses during which we work on a specific English module each term, with weekly or fortnightly lessons, but if you prefer sticking with on-demand lessons, we can do that too. In one session, I can certainly help with more than one subject, but it'd be hard to split 1 hr between 2 subjects, so you may need to book longer sessions for that.

Let me know if you ever want my help. Don't stress too much, and good luck with Year 10! :read:
