  • hahahah yeah maybe we can make the top 8 and win our first finals game since 2004 hahah its been a longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg time
4 unit maths?!?!!??? NO! your careers advisor is horribly mistaken..if such high maths is required..they would have put that in the prerequisite section in the UAC guide...and anyone wanting to do a comm course who didnt have 4 unit knowledge would have had to do a bridging course...so yeah shes big time wrong. Commerce is basic maths..but as i said earlier, it depends on what major you want to choose.
Then I hope to see you at my uni some time :)
sorry...i had to send this reply as 2 messages..hahahaha limit is like 1000 characters...
    anyway, as i was saying..
Commerce is actually a straightforward course. There is some maths involved but its not that hard, its very basic mathematics. Also, in regards to the commerce degree at uws...there are key programs (i.e. majors) that you choose from, so basically that starts from when youre in second year..so commerce units differ between students doing the same course, based on the major that you choose...if that makes sense..i know, its a confusing concept. e.g. my major is applied finance so my subjects next year are more maths based economics style subjects, whereas some of my friends are choosing hospitality and management or human resources, so for those majors, the units arent very maths involved at all...i dont think that there is any maths involved in those actually :) xxx
oh, i did 12 units too lol, but for ext 2 english..there wasnt an exam for that :) ahh i see youre quite the historian! i was never good at history..i liked it but i just wasnt good at it. yeah it is a good uni, but heaps of people bag it haha. But in terms of the teaching quality, its very good. we have some very good professors and lecturers. I also love the whole uni atmosphere, very laid back.
oh really?? what courses have you applied for? yeah, uni's a grea experience. I guess at my uni, we get a lot of extra support from teachers...ive heard from people that go to other unis, that their teachers dont really provide extra help or after class support. Of course, going to other unis like usyd..you prob have better job prospects because of its high world ranking and established prestige.
how many exams do you have for hsc? 5 or 6 something like that im guessing.
i go to uws...yeah my atar was like 85 so hahaha that was like the only uni that accepted me with an atar like that.
hoping to transfer out to usyd soon.
yeah uni life is great. it took me almost the whole first semester to get used to the atmosphere..not so much the workload, but the atmosphere...i just missed my friends and high school life so much..but after a while you realise how awesome it is :)
    much more freedom and independence
see the thing that kept me motivated was the thought of having 4 months off after hsc is over! i was unmotivated for the period between trials and 2 weeks before the hsc...but i slowly got myself into full gear. just set time frames for yourself where you have to achieve certain goals..worked for me :)
I do a bachelor of and commerce/bachelor of laws. its a great course. so what are your plans for next year?
so youre a new member? i see, youre sitting hsc. how is that going for you? :) hope the study is going well..the best of luck for your exams :)
