I guess it comes down to the subjects you're getting tutored for. Private tutoring is quite common for subjects like math and eng because they are more tailored to address people's individual needs, while coaching colleges help with the broader subjects like chem, bio and phy
Dont worry too much about scaling. If you really like Japanese and think you'll be motivated to do really well in year 12, then keep it. It's the same for chem, but for now, keep both and drop one of em next year if you want to cuz the content will be different.

Thank you for the advice :) It's just that the only reason i picked food tech was because i could either do that or physics/visual arts, which i did not want to do (I could only pick one of those three because my school organises it based on teacher availability and time. super weird ik ahaha)
