i ended up going with lovells, because i want to do IP law.. the HR of both firms were equally nice and supportive but i felt i really want to make a name in a smaller firm first.. might have better exposure and stuff but deacons was nice enough to invite me for june/july --- now...

out of curiousity guys, would you rather be a no-body in a big firm, or someone with a name in a smaller firm? i had a hard time deciding between deacons and lovells for hk (which most ppl went 'wat is that'), but i felt it's the right choice... =\ goodluck!!!

i donno if I will ever do well in syd clerkship race..but after 2 years dealing with the HR at HDY for unsw events, i love the people there... i can talk to them (esp jane) about anything, im sending her a small gift for her upcoming baby. LOL ..just my two cents.

wow. congras guys! as for my hk clerkship, i got offer from lovells... i probably will reject deacons due to clash (it was a pretty hard decision thou...) still waiting to hear from simmons, reed smith, bakers and freshfields (really hoping for last two)

I am in the same position too. My finance marks r lower than my law ones. I usually put down my law wam and marks unless they asked for both.
