Definitely, you'll need to be comfortable (if not very good) at the concepts in 2U. Think of integration in 2U and then doing a harder version in 4U.

When I did the HSC, I used to do a Sydney Grammar and James Ruse quite a bit. Otherwise, HSC from earlier years (pre new syllabus) have some good questions that are still relevant today.

Keep practicing past papers and when that gets too easy, try to do them under exam conditions. You can do it!

I think rank 1 helps but its not a prerequisite. (Source: I was rank 3 doing accelerated 2U and got 5th in state). I do get that you're worried that your school might drag you down. I'd just say that its out of your control and as long as you try your hardest, you can make it :)
