  • Freedom... limited freedom, you mean =P

We should call ourselves the Awesome All-Out Asians! Or something.

Unfortunately I don't get the bat reference because I only have a cheap $10 one =P And yeah, undesirable fits.

And we will... those innings can be long and arduous! Though how about... well, what are you anyway? Batsman? Bowler? I forgot if you told me already =(

    And we'll see. And mmkay.
Yeah, then again I'm a EX2 student and kinda require all words to be spelt correctly =P Onus is on me, not on you!

And that's great! I'll certainly be going to a few games of the AFC competition. Should be nice.

The school diary was a simple A5 hardcover thing. With like a cardboard outside. The spine and cover were ruined due to the repeated stress of hitting a tennis ball. It was a nice change from the flexible softcover we used to have. And yeah, she's a bit of a... well, yeah. I don't really like her.

How's drinks getter for the cricket team sounding for you? =P

Nah, we'll see. I just have to befriend four people who want to play indoor cricket and then we'll be good! I'll be sure to keep you posted. Just keep reminding me - or shoot me a PM. =)
Dammit, I spelt a few words wrong in my last message to you. I feel stupid =(

Ah well, Asian Cup starts in a few days. We shall see! And hope. Because we must hope - as I learned in Shawshank Redemption!

Unfortunately I won't be able to observe the stinking up of the bins... but maybe when I visit - they may have moved them =P

School diary was a hardcover - and interestingly, when my friend brought a plank from home - of all people, the woodwork teacher comes up and confiscates it <_<

Well, I hope I'll get her. And good to see you'll probably be going to UNSW - there's one extra person on the team already! Maybe.

Still, good luck with the HSC then. I'll tell you how UNSW is like.
If they are doing something for it, they aren't advertising it well! Then again it is apparenty the non-rating system, so we may not know about it at all unless we stumble upon it...

And the bins are new ones. Actually, they are so confident about the smell - they sometimes place them outside the staff room. =P

Ice-box lid... was interesting, but eventually I got the hang of it. Not really. It was like playing cricket in the locker room again because I used the school diary as a bat. So it was reliving old times!

Also about learning those words... I learnt them from a girl. She said them and I didn't know what they meant so I went on dictionary.com. My eyes were opened...! Now only if she'd go out with me. <_<

No, scratch that - if only I'd even see her, so I could ask her out! Hopefully she'll be at the UNSW info day. My mind is now 95% set on UNSW. What about you?

Happy New Year as well! Hopefully this year will be less crap.
Full episodes of Cup Fever are apparently still on the SBS website as well. Don't forget that if they don't do any Asian Cup thing!

And the trick is with the bins is to use the wheels to tip them over and just rummage from them when they are horizontal. ;)

Doosra turned out very well. Unfortunately we were using a 'bat' that doubled as the ice-box lid, and so really - you're not gonna edge that. <_<

And no, I don't have MSN. I stopped using it a few years back. Though it was source of great times - like in Year 7 when I learned the words ovaries and orgasm from a girl in my grade I was talking to. Ah those wtf moments. They're like inside jokes, and are only appreciated by those who are party to them.
Well, four years is a long time. Maybe they'll do something for like... the Asian Cup. I doubt it though...

Also, I don't think the bins were temporary because the shelves were already full. Though if they build more shelves...

And wickets - yeah, something like that unfortunately. I got smashed around the park. Even with the attempted doosra! <_<

"Hail to the Bus Driver"? "Wheels on the Bus go round and round"?
YOU LIKE BIG SPECTACLES?! HAHA, I MADE JOKE - YOU LAUGH NOW! =P

Oh, if only we could get that on DVD...

Actually, the sports room is very... precariously stored. We used rubbish bins (clean ones) as storage receptacles. We had a ball bin, literally.

And I got a few wickets! Also travel would be a cool thing though - team bonding!
I watched Cup Fever avidly! Though I didn't catch that particular segment, I don't think. The thing I loved most about that was the Kim Jong-Il segments. =P

And that seems to be a nice store room. We just had stuff piled on shelves randomly...

Though I did play today at a Christmas-esque party, uhh... in a three-quarters length field (which was just normal parkland grass). It was okay... kinda. I got smashed around the park. <_<

And then for epic irony, my cousin comes in - who is a leg spinner - and gets me out ten times for a mock twenty runs (such as past that tree is four, etc.)

    I feel deflated. Somewhat.

And if we get to UWS - we could call it the Intercampusental Championship!
I only watched the last NZ match... a boring 0-0. And then I switch to SBS TWO to find a 3-2 game and I was like "WTF, WHY AM I WATCHING THE OTHER MATCH?!" However it was already like 88 minutes and I said - stuff it, I'll keep watching the NZ game, maybe someone will score. No one did...

And it was a girl who didn't get laid last night - according to the jeers. Though I remember sneaking into the Sports storeroom to get the bat, but it got re-confiscated and the Sports storeroom became locked afterward <_<

Yes, my pitch needs improvement so maybe I'll coerce my relatives to come with me to the park so I can practice on a real field!

And yeah, we should have no problem getting a cricket competition set up, and a good one at that. It's just a matter of recognising each other on campus and actually getting into the same university! You're going to Sydney, right? I'm still not sure if I will go to Sydney. I'm about 67% sure about Sydney.
Yeah, even New Zealand finished higher than them. Sweet, sweet justice! =D

And I have no idea about the bat thing. We just made jokes like, "Ooh, someone did't get laid last night!" Cruel, but they took our bat. To this day, I have never gotten my ball or the Year 12 bat back... and everyone hates juniors.

Also, as I practice on concrete - it'd be best to use a tennis ball. So I use that. And there is one of those fences that make a big resounding thud like a gong if you hit it - right next to my 'pitch'. So... after I got screamed at by the neighbours a few times (indirectly) - I've made notes to ensure I never use a real ball.

Still, I'll practice in the nets at Syndey (if they have them). I figure I'll have a bit of free time during lectures. And I think we'd get lots of support anyway. I don't know how strong the 'We are better than UNSW' theme runs, but if we say: "But UNSW has one!", we may get our competition very quickly and easily.
lol thats good to hear. yeah i hate being lazy. oh merry christmas and a happy new year. hope you had an awesome christmas :D :D
That penalty shootout is what actually got me interested in the game. I saw it on the news and I'm like, "What is this... World Cup?" Next thing you know I'm up at 3am watching Australia's matches =P

I was so pissed off after the Italy game... the diving bastards <_<

And I haven't played a cricket match in almost a year now. Indoor cricket in Year 10 was where it was at - and then schoolyard cricket in Year 11 on the hardcourt which was stopped because the teacher's confiscated our bat because it was 'unsafe' (and yet juniors can kick a football around amongst tons of people). And then we played in the locker room, but no - we can't play there either, even in our own senior area. <_<

So now I'm only practicing 'bowling' in the driveway, which is like half-length of a real cricket pitch (?)

Still, if you're going to Sydney - we can push for an indoor cricket competition. Shouldn't be too hard to get players, venue and support.
no, its not really for the money, it's just so that i can feel productive. I feel so lazy and tired if im not working or studying or doing something. Lol ok then, have fun hanging out with friends :D :D
Penalty kicks and saves are epic in themselves. Not sure of the backlash of it. It's pure entertainment!

And my action is a dance =P Well, it's kind of a dance. But as soon as you get wickets, people stop cackling at your action. Even if it is in indoor cricket.

But I try to get the healthy mix of education and exercise, though when I go outside my family are like: "It's so hot! Get back inside! What are you doing?" <_<

And combined with the fact that siblings and relatives aren't exactly sport fanatics - I'm happy to have something like cricket, which you can practice by yourself. Just get some stumps and a ball, and you're good. Unfortunately, one can't do the same with football - especially if you're the goalkeeper.

    So you lucky person you!
Short keepers are cool because they make diving saves more often =P

Learning off the TV was interesting in that you have to work it out on scenario - and really, goalkeepers are only tested only a few times per match. I had to watch a lot to get the jist of it all!

And on Harbhajan, I meant learned off spin via his action. Interesting action, I must admit - though I haven't watched enough Indian cricket to see if he's irritating or not. Though now my action is like a mash-up of Hauritz, Warne, Ajmal and Harbhajan - it's weird. But it works, kinda.

And I think most people who have to combine academics with sport don't like running much anyways! So you are not alone in that respect.
    Oh hey there sly,

Yeah, not sure why it was locked... ah well.

Yes, I'm a goalie - and no I'm not tall. If I jump, I can just touch the bar. So I'm like... those short ones with not a lot of skill, but a lot of drive to exceed =P

Unfortunately, when it came to school teams - they wanted the ones with skill but not a lot of drive.

Though, I like keeping due to acrobatics. It's a nice change from bookwork and sitting down! Though it is pretty cool we do play the same sports. Though you're probably better at it than I, who is just an observer who learned all his skills by copying from TV.

I learned off-spin from watching Harbhajan Singh of India! =D

And oh on your winger thing, I don't find it wierd. I heard forwards end up as goalkeepers so if that's a change possible - anything is.
lol, i have had enough of the holidays...i want to get a job. ive applied to some places but i need to apply for more.
so going on a holiday or just hanging around with friends? :D :D
Hey slyhunter :D I think that students need a good balance between study and having fun. Seriously, try to have as much fun as possible but also try to get a headstart on your schoolwork. trust me, you will just feel so much more confident going into the classroom next year.
Merry christmas and a happy new year to you in advance :D
    xx
